editFrom earlier form narinkka << Russian на ры́нке (na rýnke), "(on sale) on marketplace". Originally referred to second-hand clothes dealers,[1] or more specifically to that located on the Simonkatu street in Helsinki[2] (whence also the name of Narinkka).
