neoteleost (plural neoteleosts)

  1. (zoology) A member of the clade Neoteleostei of bony fish.

      Rosen (1973) separated the stomiiforms (= Stomiatoidei) from other protacanthopterygian groups, placing them as the sister-group of all other neoteleosts (Eurypterygii).
