plus factor (plural plus factors)

  1. (US, law) Any trait of a person, such as their race, that may give them an advantage under affirmative action.
    • 2001, Johan Rabe, Equality, Affirmative Action and Justice, page 143:
      Race may therefore not be the only determining factor in the allocation, but race may be considered as a plus factor that may be taken into account.
