polycycle (plural polycycles)

  1. (mathematics) A planar countably locally-finite graph in which all interior vertices have the maximum vertex degree and all interior faces are polygons with the same number of faces.
    • 2004, Normal Forms, Bifurcations and Finiteness Problems in Differential Equations[1]:
      Recall that the cyclicity of a polycycle in a family of equations is the maximal number of limit cycles that may occur from the polycycle in this family.
  2. (radar) A waveform with multiple cycles of the carrier within the pulse envelope.
