polyrepo (plural polyrepos)

  1. (software engineering) A software project in which different components are located in separate code repositories which can be versioned individually (as opposed to a monorepo in which all the code exists within a single repository).

      In situation where there is 2 components, polyrepos are sufficient. In situation where there is 50 components, monorepos shine. And the switch is somewhere in between.
