Etymology edit
From post- + autistic, derived from the French autisme-économie (“autism economics”),[1] itself from an older sense of French autisme to mean "abnormal subjectivity" or "acceptance of fantasy rather than reality."[2]

Usage notes edit
The pejorative reference to the neurodevelopmental disorder autism is considered offensive by some.[3] The Post-Autistic Economics Review was renamed the Real-World Economics Review in 2009.[4]
