Etymology edit

Phonetically matches the expected Tosk outcome of a Vulgar Latin borrowing **pūttāna,^[1] whence Italian puttana, but this is contrasted by the fact that the Italian term is likely from Gallo-Romance^[2] and that the word survived only in Arbëresh.
