Likely cognate with Akkadian 𒆳𒉿𒇷𒄑𒋫 (KURPilistu), 𒆳𒉺𒆷𒀾𒋫 (KURPalastu) and Hebrew פְּלֶשֶׁת (Pəléšeṯ, Philistia). Also compare Ancient Greek Πελασγός (Pelasgós).
