short title (plural short titles)

  1. An abbreviated form of entry for a book in a list or catalog that usually gives only the author's name, the title in brief, the date and place of publication, and the publisher's or printer's name.
  2. (law, Commonwealth of Nations, US, Philippines) A title given to an act (or other piece of legislation) to facilitate citation; generally used as the common name for that legislation.
