  1. (nonstandard, often transitive) simple past and past participle of sleep
    I'd almost beaten the level but suddenly a fairy appeared from nowhere and sleeped me.
    I had to conserve battery life, so I sleeped my laptop while I was on the bus.

Usage notes edit

Though not accepted as grammatical, usage of this form is concentrated in transitive ("put to sleep") and metaphorical uses of the verb, for example when used elliptically for a noun phrase such as sleep spell or sleep mode.
