Borrowed from Latin triumphus, from Old Latin triumpus, via Etruscan *𐌈𐌓𐌉𐌀𐌌𐌐𐌄 (*θriampe), ultimately from Ancient Greek θρίαμβος (thríambos, “thriambos, a hymn to Dionysus”).
