Etymology edit

From the Latin vāsa, plural of vās (vessel) + vāsōrum, the genitive plural of vās (vessel). Meaning "vessels of the vessels."

  1. (anatomy) The capillaries that supply blood to vessels larger than 1 mm. They supply blood to the adventitia and middle tunicae.
