xenosphere (plural xenospheres)

  1. A spheroid culture from a xenograft.
  2. A particulate remnant of carbon released in the combustion of oil or coal.

      There is good evidence that with burning oil sprays the larger droplets may crack to carbon, sometimes forming xenospheres which pass through the flame front.
