yi- (progressive) + ∅- (3rd person subject prefix) + -∅- (classifier) + -ʼash (progressive stem of root -ʼÁÁZH, “to go — 2 actors”).

Usage notes

This stem is used for going in pairs. For individual movement, see yigááł. For movement in groups of three or more, see yikah.

Singular forms of this verb, such as yishʼash, refer to one subject involved in a movement as a pair. Distributive plural forms refer to several people going in pairs independent one from another.

This is a progressive verb; it is conjugated only in the progressive mode.
