     Although the frequency of developing adverse effect by rikkunshito is currently under investigation, the occurrence rate of hypokalemia with rikkunshito may be lower than that with another Kampo medicine, yokukansan, which contains more glycyrrhizic acid than rikkunshito and has been reported to cause hypokalemia with frequency 1.3%.
