Uncertain. Probably from Proto-Slavic *sъborъ (“gathering, meeting”); compare Macedonian збор (zbor). Not related to Daco-Romanian zbura (“to fly”); the cognate to that word in Aromanian is azboair. Possibly related indirectly to Romanian sporovăi (“to talk much”).
