Etymology 1Edit

Borrowed from a (South) Slavic language, most likely Macedonian збор ‎(zbor, word), where the transformation from "meeting, gathering" to "word" occurred in the same way as the Aromanian synonym cuvendã ‎(word) from Latin conventum or Albanian kuvend; compare Common Slavic *sъborъ ‎(meeting, gathering) (Serbo-Croatian zbȍr/збо̏р). Akin to zburãscu ‎(speak). Not related to Romanian zbor ‎(flight).
