From -d (frequentative suffix) +‎ -k (obsolete instantaneous suffix) +‎ -l (frequentative suffix) with linking vowels.[1]

  1. (frequentative suffix, rare) Added to a verb to form another verb to express the frequent repetition of an action.
    bújik (to hide) + ‎-dokol → ‎bújdokol (to be hiding)
    fal (to devour) + ‎-dokol → ‎faldokol (to be devouring)
    fúl (to drown) + ‎-dokol → ‎fúldokol (to be drowning)
    hal (to die) + ‎-dokol → ‎haldokol (to be dying)
    nyom (to press) + ‎-dokol → ‎nyomdokol (to be pressing on)

Usage notes edit

  • (frequentative suffix) It is used only by a few one-syllable verbs. No longer productive. Variants:
    -dokol is added to back-vowel verbs
    -dekel is added to unrounded front-vowel verbs
    -dököl is added to rounded front-vowel verbs
