Rfv-sense: A carefree time, something easy and relaxing.

with the usex: Life's a beach!

I don't see how this expression alone gives the challenged meaning to beach. DCDuring TALK 13:06, 1 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

This is just used as a metaphor (which I totally don't agree with - life's a beach, maybe for the likes of Paris Hilton!!). JamesjiaoTC 04:09, 2 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
This is a metaphor used exclusively in the idiom "life's a beach," itself a pun on "life's a bitch." As far as I know it has enjoyed no use beyond this highly specific context. Whether we should have an entry on the idiom "life's a beach" I'm less certain about. Dcoetzee (talk) 06:02, 2 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
Indeed life's a beach is an idiom that I think we should have, you can't always deconstruct an idiom into it's parts, on the contrary in fact! For example in at sixes and sevens, sixes and sevens have no independent meaning in this idiom, you can't 'extract' them. Ergo cite properly or delete. I suppose life's a beach might be deemed a proverb, given our inclusive tendencies. I agree with Dcoetzee completely. DCDuring TALK 14:28, 2 August 2012 (UTC)Reply
