• How to edit a page is a concise list of technical guidelines to the wiki format we use here: how to, for example, make text boldfaced or make a hyperlink. The Wiktionary tutorial is a more wordy, multi-page document that helps you through those same formatting issues, and also touches on a couple of other issues relevant to editing.
• The document What Wiktionary is not may be of interest. In particular, if you've edited Wikipedia in the past, you should note that Wiktionary is not an encyclopedia and does not have Wikipedia-style page titles.
• How to start a new page is a technical guide to, well, how to start a new page. But you'll also want to look at our guidelines for how to format an entry (what goes where) and our criteria for inclusion (what can be included), which are our two main policy documents. (You can get a feel for how to format an entry by looking at existing entries.)
• The Sandbox is a safe place for testing markup.
• The FAQ has, of course, some frequently (and some infrequently) asked questions, and their answers.

inflection-line cleanup

Thanks for adding {{infl|...}} to various entries. Note, though, that the inflection line (where that template appears) is meant to show inflections (which for English nouns means, generally, plurals) of the word. So, e.g., this edit, although helpful, could have been even more so if you'd added, instead of {{infl|en|noun}}, {{infl|en|noun|plural|Baalists}} or its abbreviated form {{en-noun|s}}. gimmicks

Simple plural forms of nouns, by convention, for reasons I don't know, have an untemplated inflection line. Accordingly, I will undo your edit, but I thought you deserved as good an explanation as I could give. DCDuring TALK 16:13, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

For English adjectives, we have a more specific template. See my edits to n-adic. The pos= stands for "positive" (the normal form for adjectives) and the |- makes it "noncomparable". Thanks for the cleanup!. Conrad.Irwin 11:55, 21 February 2009 (UTC)

Hiya, have a loko at the changes I made here. {{also}} is used only for links to pages that are similarly spelled (eg between (deprecated template usage) tó, (deprecated template usage) tő, (deprecated template usage) to).
