From Cantonese 白小 (baak6 siu2), short for Cantonese 白底小啡 (baak6 dai2 siu2 fe1, “white coffee”) (SV: bạc tẩy xỉu phé), literally "白 (“white”) +‎ 底 (“under”) +‎ 小 (“(with a) little bit of”) +‎ 啡 (“coffee”)".
