  1. (intransitive) to decide
    J’ai décidé d’aller à Paris pour l’été.
    I decided to go to Paris for the summer.
  2. (transitive) to persuade, convince (someone à faire to do)
  3. (reflexive) to make a decision, to make up one's mind

Usage notes edit

  • When intransitive, décider is followed by de when preceding an infinitive verb.
  • When transitive or reflexive, décider is followed by à in the same context.
