    There is too much of itor — There are too many of them.
    1. (with singulars and uncountable nouns) too much
      On est passé beaucoup trop de temps en compagnie de menteurs.
      Too much time is spent in the company of liars.
    2. (with countable nouns) too many
      Il a lis trop dhistoires effrayantes et ne sait plus s’endormir.
      He read too many scary stories and can't sleep any more.

Usage notes edit

  • As seen above, the preposition de and the complement it introduces can be replaced with the adverbial pronoun en to reference a previously mentioned substantive.
