Borrowed from the Latin ephēmeris, itself a borrowing from the Ancient Greek ἐφημερῐ́ς (ephēmerís).

- block or tear-off calendar; the events that took place on a particular date in previous years
- (traditionally in the plural, astronomy) ephemeris (table giving the apparent position of celestial bodies throughout the year)
