From öjö (irregular alteration of ejö) +‎ -tö (non-third-person plural suffix) +‎ -kö (imperative suffix); the extra -'de from the singular form disappears.

For the initial vowel in the irregular root form *öjö, compare Trió ëepï, Panare ëpï.
