Calque of French à huis clos. In genitive plural, from Ancient Greek perfect participle κεκλεισμένος (kekleisménos, “κεκλεισμένων”) of verb κλείω (kleíō), and θύρα (thúra, “η θύρα, τῶν θῠρῶν”)
