2. (colloquial, ironic, sarcastic) (of well known facts introduced as novel)

   —Ξέρεις, έχει κάνει δύο πλαστικές εγχειρίσεις. —Χαίρω πολύ, κάτι μας είπες τώρα. Είναι πασίγνωστο.

   —Xéreis, échei kánei dýo plastikés encheiríseis. —Chaíro polý, káti mas eípes tóra. Eínai pasígnosto.

   —Have you heard? She has had two plastic surgeries. —Thanks for that, I didn't know (!) It is well-known.

Usage notes

For goodbye we use past tense: χάρηκα πολύ (chárika polý, “I was very pleased (to meet you)”)
