From ψευδ- (psevd-, pseudo-) +‎ αίσθηση (aísthisi, feeling), on the model of παραίσθηση (paraísthisi).[1] First attested as Katharevousa ψευδαίσθησις (psevdaísthisis) in 1888.[2]
