Etymology

Inherited from Old Ruthenian ку́жель (kúželʹ), further etymology uncertain, there are two primary explanations:[1]

Cognate with Ukrainian кужі́ль (kužílʹ), ку́жіль (kúžilʹ), Russian ку́жель (kúželʹ).
