editInherited from Proto-Slavic *sь̀kyľь (“clitoris; vulva”), from *sьkati, *sikati (“to piss”). All forms of the roots *sьk-, *sik-, *sěk- are ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *seykʷ- (“to moisten”). Cognate with Russian се́киль (sékilʹ), Ukrainian се́кіль (sékilʹ), си́кель (sýkelʹ).
