Etymology 1 edit

Probably a derivation of Proto-Turkic *yara- (be good enough, be sufficient, be successful), appended with the causative suffix -t.

Cognate with Tatar ярату (yaratu, to love), Kazakh жарату (jaratu, to like, approve of), Kyrgyz жаратуу (jaratuu, to like, approve of), Uyghur ياراتماق (yaratmaq, to love, sypathize).

Cognate with Old Uyghur [script needed] (jarat-, to create);[1]Uzbek yaratmoq (to create), Uyghur ياراتماق (yaratmaq, to create), Turkish yaratmak (to create); also Hungarian gyárt (to manufacture), which comes from an Oghur source.
