Etymology

An old derivative of աղբ (ałb). The suffix -եւք (-ewkʻ) may be related to -ոյք (-oykʻ). The forms աղբիւսք (ałbiwskʻ), աղբիւս (ałbiws), աղբեւս (ałbews) were built post-classically by generalizing the accusative աղբեւս (ałbews) of աղբեւք (ałbewkʻ) and the accusative աղբիս (ałbis) of աղբիք (ałbikʻ).
