edit

The origin is unknown.[1][2][3] The same root is found as the second component of classical Old Armenian անդորր (andorr), անդոյր (andoyr).[1] For the relationship of the senses "flat" and "easy" compare հեշտ (hešt, easy) and dialectal հեշտրան (heštran, flat; calm, easy).[1]
