Etymology
editFrom the Proto-Indo-European past tense augment *e-, which is an isogloss shared only by Armenian, Ancient Greek, Indo-Iranian, and Phrygian. For examples of cognates see եդ (ed), եբեր (eber), եգիտ (egit).
