Etymology edit

From զ- (z-) +‎ the root գած- (gac-) of unknown origin, found also in առիգած (aṙigac, apron).

Verb edit

զգածիմ (zgacim)

  1. (intransitive) to clothe or to dress oneself
  2. (intransitive, figuratively) to be affected with some feeling; to fly into a passion

Usage notes edit

Often confused with զգամ (zgam, to feel) by later scribes, which gave rise to such misspellings as անզգած (anzgac, unfeeling) (read անզգաց (anzgacʻ)) and իրազգած (irazgac) (read իրազգաց (irazgacʻ)).
