Etymology edit

From Ancient Greek θέατρον (théatron). The forms թէատրոն (tʻēatron), թեատրոն (tʻeatron) are literary transliterations directly from Greek, whereas թատր (tʻatr) is a popular form probably borrowed via Aramaic.
