Etymology edit

Borrowed from a Mediterranean substrate source, probably of the form *skʰodoro-, whence also Ancient Greek σκόροδον (skórodon) and Albanian hudhër. The form սխտոր (sxtor) must have developed under the influence of սոխ (sox).
