editA dialectal word, that has entered also the literary language. Borrowed from Northern Kurdish mij, dialectal muj (“mist, fog”). In Dersim and Kiğı probably from Zazaki mıj. All ultimately from Proto-Indo-European *h₃meygʰ-, whence also Old Armenian մէգ (mēg). Thus, a doublet of մեգ (meg).
