אישר / אִשֵּׁר • ('ishér) third-singular masculine past (pi'el construction, passive counterpart אושר / אֻשַּׁר)

1. to approve, allow
   • Tanach, Genesis 30:13, with translation of the Jewish Publication Society:

     וַתֹּאמֶר לֵאָה בְּאָשְׁרִי, כִּי אִשְּׁרוּנִי בָּנוֹת;

     vattómer leá bəoshrí, ki ishrúni banót;

     And Leah said, Happy am I, For women have called me happy;
