נִכְנַס • (nikhnás) third-singular masculine past (nif'al construction)

1. (intransitive) To enter; to go in or come in.
   • בראשית רבה ע ה:

     עקילס הגר נכנס אצל רבי אליעזר.

2. (intransitive) To enter (a state).

   נכנס לתוקף ― nikhnás l'tókef ― went into effect

   נכנסה להריון ― nikhn'sá l'herayón ― became pregnant
