Borrowed from Belarusian грэ́чка (hréčka), Ukrainian гре́чка (hréčka) with loss of initial consonant (cf. дзе (dzje), де (de)). Alternative form גרעטשקע (gretshke) borrowed from Russian гре́чка (gréčka). Compare also Romanian hrișcă.
