Inherited from Prakrit 𑀪𑀽𑀫𑀺 (bhūmi), from Sanskrit भूमि (bhū́mi, earth, ground). Doublet of بھوں (bhoṉ). Cognate with Pahari-Potwari بِھیئیں (bhī'eṉ).
