خنده (xande)

  1. laughing; a laugh; laughter
    • 11th century, Abulfazl Bayhaqi, edited by Ali-Akbar Fayyaz, Tarikh-i Bayhaqi, page 83:
and he was doing acts of kindness to everyone [visiting him] and was doing forced laughing – and in all my life I never saw him with a joyful laugh, except only smiles, since he was a tough man – and he was so thoughtful; such that he knew what was about to happen.
