رفد (rfad) I (non-past يرفد (yirfad), verbal noun رفيد (rfīd) or رفود (rfūd))

  1. to pick up
    عافاك رفد داك الكتاب اللي طاح.
    ʕāfāk rfad dāk le-ktāb elli ṭāḥ
    Please pick up the book that fell.
  2. to hold on
    رفد معاك هاد القرعة حتى نرجع.
    rfad mʕāk hād el-qarʕa ḥatta narjaʕ.
    Hold on to this bottle until I come back.
  3. to remove, to take away
    الله يرفد علينا هاد الهم.
    ellāh yirfad ʕlīna hād el-hamm.
    May God take away this sorrow.
  4. to stop
    Synonym: فتر (ftar)
