  1. intense cold; the depths of winter
    • 609–632 CE, Qur'an, 76:13:
      مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ فِيهَا عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ ۖ لَا يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْسًۭا وَلَا زَمْهَرِيرًۭا
      There they will be reclining on ˹canopied˺ couches, never seeing scorching heat or bitter cold.
