Inherited from Proto-Turkic *sïč- (to defecate), the same root of صیچان (sıçan, mouse); cognate with Bashkir сысыу (sısıw), Chuvash сысма (sysma), Kazakh тышу (tyşu) and Kyrgyz чычуу (cıcuu).
