Inherited from Proto-Turkic *kaŋlï;[1] cognate with Chagatai [script needed] (qaŋlï), Khakas хаңаа (xañaa), Kipchak [script needed] (qanłï), Old Uyghur qʾnkly, Salar gañli, Turkmen gaňňa and Shor қаңаа (qaŋā).
