Etymology

Probably لَا () +‎ جُرْم (jurm) with the last in an obsolete vocalization (not usual already in the 7th century CE) originally implying “it is no wrong [scilicet to claim]”.

      لَا جَرَمَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ ۚ إِنَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُسْتَكْبِرِينَ
      lā jarama ʔanna l-laha yaʕlamu mā yusirrūna wamā yuʕlinūna ʔinnahu lā yuḥibbu l-mustakbirīna
