Etymology

From Middle Persian *muštak, whence Arabic مُسْتَقَة (mustaqa) and Middle Armenian մուշտակ (muštak). Perhaps a derivative of Middle Persian [script needed] (mwšt' /⁠mušt⁠/, fist).
