ܐܸܕ (id, this) + the absolute state of ܝܵܘܡܵܐ (yāwmā, day); compare Turoyo ܐܱܕܝܱܘܡܰܐ (ädyäwma), Classical Syriac ܝܲܘܡܵܢܵܐ (yawmānā, literally This day), Arabic اَلْيَوْم (al-yawm), and Hebrew הַיּוֹם (hayóm).
